When you hire our professionals to for regular garage door maintenance, any developing problems can be caught early on when they’re cheaper to fix. So, what do we actually do when it comes to maintenance? Read on!
Visual Inspection is a Must
We’ll make sure even the tiniest components such as bolts, screws and hinges are in their correct place and well-tightened. We’ll inspect the tension of cables, springs and your door opener belt (or chain). We’ll check all the components for signs of damage and rust. After identifying any existing problems, rest assured that our technicians will repair the things that can be fixed and replace only those components which are beyond any repair.
Adjusting Spring Tension
In order for springs to be able to do all the heavy lifting, they need to be adjusted every once in a while. Tension problems can cause the door to close unevenly, improperly, or at the wrong speed. Our technicians will do exactly what is needed to solve the problem before them. You see, tension adjustment is sometimes needed on one side only, and sometimes tension needs to be increased (or decreased) on both sides. Our professionals have knowledge, experience AND tools to do this quickly and safely.
Photo Eyes Testing
Photo eyes may be small, but are a very important part of your garage door system. Their job is to tell the door to reverse back up when there is an obstruction in its downward path. Unfortunately, these sensors are very delicate and can easily become misaligned. Common problems with these components have to do with the wiring, which include: a poor connection, badly connected wires, shortage, and more. And if you have broken or misaligned sensors, you also have a safety problem! You shouldn’t worry, though. Making sure photo sensors are in a perfect working condition is part of our maintenance services!
